When you finish with the diary Samara will approach you, explaining that Morinth is drawn to artists. The most recent entry mentions that Morinth likes a movie called Vaenia. The middle entry mentions a drug named Hallex, which lines up with Diana suspecting Morinth gave Nef drugs. The oldest diary entry reveals the password to get into the VIP section of afterlife: namedropping Garuut. It's the Diary laptop that's of the most interest however, as it has three diary entries from Nef, and each one has a clue. In the very small side room, you'll find a Statue you can Examine to hear a comment from Diana, and a Note behind the bed with a message from Morinth. However you responded, it'll be time to search this small apartment for some clues. If you ignore it, you can instead reply with "No promises" for +2 Renegade Points. When you ask to examine Nef's room, Diana will become overcome with grief, and you can pull a Paragon Interrupt for +5 Paragon Points. When Diana asks if you're one of Aria's people, saying "I'm on your side" will get you +2 Paragon Points, while saying "Yes" will get +2 Renedage Points. Start by saying "I believe you" to get +2 Paragon Points. She's obviously stricken with grief over the death of her daughter Nef, who was apparently a very talented sculptor. Inside you'll find the mother of Mordin's latest victim, Diana. When you get to the Batarian preaching on a soapbox, go right and then enter the door down on the left. Simply exit the club and head left, going through the right-hand door at the end. The victim's apartment is located right next to the entrance to the old Quarantine Zone, which is where you recruited Mordin earlier in the game. If you don't know where that is, don't fret! You've actually passed by there before. Aria suggests you look at the nearby tenements, which is where her last victim was found. Sit down on her couch and ask about "Samara's Daughter" to get a lead. As such, you shouldn't need directions to find Aria: she'll be in her usual perch overlooking the upper floor of Afterlife. You'll have visited Omega before when doing your first roundup of Missions earlier in the game. The negative is that the most Renegade outcome requires passing an EXTREMELY high Persuasion check, so Renegades may want to wait until close to the end of the game. The positive is that there's no combat, meaning Paragons can do this for some easy XP.Samara's Loyalty Mission has a big positive for Paragons and a big negative for Renegades. When you arrive, land, and we'll go about our business. The search for Samara's daughter, a dangerous and formidable Ardat-Yakshi, will begin (and end) on Omega, located in the Sahrabarik system of the Omega Nebula. Renegade: "Sounds like you", "I'll think about it", "You should have told me" ( +6 Renegade Points total).Paragon: "I can see why she's dangerous", "Let's go get her", "Samara. Not all Ardat Yakshi are bad (Samara has two other Ardat-Yakshi daughters who aren't a threat to anybody), but Samara's quarry, Morinth, craves it above all else.ĭuring this conversation you have a chance for some Morality Points. And to make matters worse, Morinth is Samara's daughter, the reason she became a Justicar 400 years ago. Ardat-Yakshi are born with a genetic defect that causes them to kill whoever they meld with during sex, and become addicted to its narcotic effects. When she does, meet her in the Port Observation room on the Crew Deck.Īs you'll discover, the matter involves the person Samara was chasing back on Illium, an Asari known as an Ardat-Yakshi. You'll also need to unlock the Loyalty Missions for Jacob, Miranda, Jack, Mordin and Grunt before Samara will ask to speak with you. In what capacities do Samara and Morinth return in Mass Effect 3 (squadmates, mentioned by a NPC, quest-related, increases to Galactic Readiness, etc.)? I would like a comparison to help me make my decision about who I want to save.To undertake this quest, you have to first recruit Samara into your party (if you're following our walkthrough in order, you would have done that some time ago). Under Returning Characters though, I don't see Morinth listed on the wiki, but I'm unsure if this is only because she was not confirmed in press releases before release. However, if you choose to kill Samara, Morinth then takes her mother's place on the ship, which apparently fools everyone (except Kasumi). The default action for this choice is to kill Morinth, as, if you don't have enough Paragon/Renegade points, you won't be able to help in the fight. You then get a choice to either kill Samara or kill Morinth. I did my best to keep the title spoiler-free, as this is a major story decision, but the rest of it will obviously have to have spoilers in it.Īt the end of Samara's loyalty mission, if you have enough Paragon/Renegade points at the end of it, you can fight Morinth's sway over you.
